Or, Roads That Might Have Been
Connecticut has done some really strange things with roads in the past. There are some roads that were planned but never built, some strange sections of highways to nowhere, or that end in parking garages, some roads that are forever in the planning stage.
This section of my website deetails a few of these roads that I drive and have fascinated me over the years. I remember asking my dad when I was a kid about why there were funny off/on ramps on I-91 in Rocky Hill, and wondering if I-291 was ever going to be finished. I finally found out the real story behind this road (thanks to kurumi.com) and several others, and thought I'd share some of what I've found, and some pictures I've taken.
These pages are very new, most of them unfinished.
