Add this to your .Xresources:
URxvt.selection.pattern-0: ^(sftp://[^ ]+)\
Note that there's a space at the end of the line.

More hilarity with #hangouts - If you use a Google (calendar, mail, talk, etc) account for work which is not your personal account (as I do), and you want to have messaging (i.e. Hangouts, now that Talk is going away), then you will end up either using the client on the g+ webpage, or a browser plugin, like the one for Chrome. This is because Google are turning off XMPP support, so no third-party clients will work.
The Chrome plugin works as well as the Android client (which isn't very well, but that's beside this point) - HOWEVER, you can only sign into Hangouts with one account and it's always the first account you sign into in your browser.
Which makes using this for work and personal use a whole lot more difficult for most people, and probably impossible for some.
Way to go, Google. -
